Welcome to the first edition of the Wilmington BUZZ!  

 

We’re excited to bring you a fresh way to stay connected with life in Greater Wilmington. Each edition will feature local events, hidden gems, dining spots, and community stories that showcase the energy of our community.

 

To start, you can expect a few editions each month — more often than monthly, but not so often it clutters your inbox. As our community grows, so will the Buzz, with new features, spotlights, and surprises along the way.

The Tall Ship Kalmar Nyckel is offering fall river cruises in Wilmington.

The ship is a replica of a Dutch-built vessel that brought Swedish settlers to the Delaware Valley in the 1600s.

The Wilmington International Film Festival will present its first-ever Caribbean Film & Fashion Night on Saturday, Oct.11, 2025.

Hosted by the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of the Northeast, the event will feature red-carpet glamour, island rhythms, and screenings of Caribbean films at The Screening Room.

Designers from New York Fashion Week will showcase their work, and films starring Spragga Benz, Oliver Samuels, and Nadine Sutherland will be featured.

The festival schedule includes film screenings, a fashion show, a Caribbean dinner, and a post-show panel discussion.

Tickets are required, but free entertainment will also be available at The Chancery.

Apothecary Brewing Co. is set to open in Claymont this fall, with owners John Ponte and Andy Poole looking to create a unique space for craft beer enthusiasts.

The brewery aims to offer a variety of specialty beers in a welcoming atmosphere.

The owners hope to establish Apothecary Brewing Co.as a must-visit destination for beer lovers in Delaware.

Aunt Berta's, a new restaurant in Hockessin, Delaware, offers Southern comfort food with a modern twist.
